Made in Canada mattresses and toppers

Obasan (Ottawa), Essentia (Laval), Polysleep (Montreal), Restwell (Surrey), Silk & Snow (Toronto), and Endy (Toronto and Montreal) say their mattresses are built in those cities. Essentia is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, and in February 2025 announced a factory there as well. GoodMorning says Douglas, Logan & Cove, Juno, and Octave are assembled in Canada by production partners, and it does not name the city. A Canadian company is not the same as a mattress made in Canada: Marshall builds in the United States, and some toppers from Canadian brands are imported.

How this list was checked

Every factory, owner, material, and price below comes from a page linked in that row, read on 2026-10-01. Where a brand is silent, the cell says so or the brand is left off. No brand paid to be included. Prices are what the site showed that day. CertiPUR-US means a foam passed an emissions and content standard. It does not mean the foam was made in Canada, or in the United States.

Canadian brand, made elsewhere

These names come up in Canadian mattress shopping. The linked pages say the mattress or the topper itself is made outside Canada, even when the company still has a Canadian workshop for other bedding.

How to check if a mattress is really made in Canada

Start with the words on the product page and on the sewn-in label. For non-food goods, the Competition Bureau says the last substantial transformation of the good must have occurred in Canada for both a Product of Canada claim and a Made in Canada claim. Product of Canada also needs at least 98 percent of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good incurred in Canada. Made in Canada needs at least 51 percent of those costs, plus a qualifying statement such as Made in Canada with imported parts. These are the Bureau’s thresholds. A brand’s claim is not a certificate. Neither phrase proves the foam or latex was made in Canada.

  • Read the label for who is responsible for the product, and for any line that says content is imported. A dealer name in Canada does not locate the factory.
  • Ask where the foam or latex was made, where the coils were made, and where the cover fabric was made. Assembly or boxing in Canada can still use imported parts.
  • Treat “designed in Canada”, a maple leaf, and a .ca website as company facts, not manufacturing facts.
  • CertiPUR-US, GOLS, and GOTS are material standards. They are not a country of origin.

Frequently asked questions

Which mattress brands are made in Canada?

On the brand pages checked on 1 October 2026, Obasan builds in Ottawa, Essentia builds in Laval, Polysleep builds in Montreal, Restwell builds in Surrey, Silk & Snow builds mattresses in Toronto, and Endy builds mattresses in Toronto and Montreal. Essentia is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, and in February 2025 announced a factory there as well. GoodMorning says Douglas, Logan & Cove, Juno, and Octave are assembled in Canada by production partners, and it does not name the city.

Is a Canadian mattress company the same as a mattress made in Canada?

No. Marshall’s FAQ says its bedding is made in California and Pennsylvania. Canadian Down & Feather makes many duvets and pillows in Toronto, but its Down Perfect mattress topper is labelled imported. Silk & Snow makes mattresses in Toronto and makes its organic latex topper in Sri Lanka.

Are Endy and Silk & Snow still made in Canada?

Their mattresses are. Endy says the original mattress is made in Toronto and Montreal, and that the Elevate Hybrid is manufactured in Canada. Silk & Snow says its mattresses are made in Toronto. Both are owned by Sleep Country Canada, which Fairfax Financial (Toronto) acquired on 1 Oct 2024. Silk & Snow’s organic latex topper is made in Sri Lanka. Endy’s Dual-Comfort topper page does not say where that topper is made.

What is the difference between Made in Canada and Product of Canada on a mattress?

For non-food goods, the Competition Bureau says the last substantial transformation of the good must have occurred in Canada for both a Product of Canada claim and a Made in Canada claim. Product of Canada also needs at least 98 percent of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good incurred in Canada. Made in Canada needs at least 51 percent of those costs, plus a qualifying statement such as Made in Canada with imported parts. These are the Bureau’s thresholds. A brand’s claim is not a certificate. Neither phrase proves the foam or latex was made in Canada. The methodology page at /methodology#regulated-claims explains why this site does not treat those phrases as its own verdict.

How do I check a mattress that is not on this list?

Read the product page and the sewn-in label for the exact words Made in Canada or Product of Canada, and for any qualifying line about imported parts. Ask where the foam or latex, the coils, and the cover fabric were made, not only where the mattress was boxed or assembled. A Canadian head office, a .ca address, or a maple leaf is not a factory. CertiPUR-US is a foam emissions certification, not a country of origin.

Do these brands use Canadian foam and Canadian latex?

Polysleep says it makes its foam in Montreal. Silk & Snow says mattress foam is produced by a Toronto manufacturer. Essentia says it makes its latex foam in Laval and that ingredients come from Canada and the United States. Endy says the mattress is made in Canada and does not say the foam or the coils were made in Canada. Obasan does not name the country where its latex is produced. GoodMorning and Restwell name foam types and do not name the country of the raw materials. Where a page is silent, this list does not fill the gap.

The Made in Canada and Product of Canada thresholds above are the Competition Bureau's. The methodology page explains how fyiCanada handles those phrases.

Left off because the claim was not verified

  • ViscoLogic. The about page says made in Canada and does not name a city, an owner, or whether the foam is made or bought in. Left off.

  • Natura. Retailers describe Natura as made in Canada. No Natura-owned page found in this check names a factory. Left off.

  • Sealy, Serta, and Simmons. A Canadian plant, where a brand has one, is not the same as every mattress in the line being made here. Model-by-model plant claims were not verified, so the national lines are left off.

  • Casper. A Douglas comparison table lists Casper as made in Canada. That is a competitor’s table, not Casper’s site, so it is not treated as verified.

  • Dormeo. Often grouped with Canadian sleep shopping. A Dormeo page stating a Canadian factory was not part of this check, so the brand is left off.
