Brands that seem Canadian: who really owns them
Canada Dry was founded in Toronto and is still bottled in Canada, but Keurig Dr Pepper of the United States owns it. Dempster's is baked here from Canadian wheat under Grupo Bimbo of Mexico. Robin Hood flour is milled in Canada for J.M. Smucker, and Rogers flour in British Columbia for Nisshin Seifun of Japan. Red Rose began in New Brunswick, but the tea is now imported and owned by a Dutch company.

Foreign-owned, made in Canada
Most rows in the table are this case. Canada Dry is bottled in Ontario and Alberta. Dempster's is baked here from Canadian wheat. ACANA kibble for Canada is cooked in Alberta. The parent companies are in the United States, Mexico or elsewhere.
Sealtest is made in Canada by Agropur, a Canadian dairy co-op owned by thousands of Canadian farmers, using Canadian milk. The Sealtest name itself is licensed from the Unilever group. See Canadian milk brands.
Canadian-owned, made abroad
Lululemon and Aritzia are Vancouver companies. Lululemon's clothes are made in Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Bangladesh. Aritzia's are cut and sewn in Asia, Europe and the United States. Joe Fresh is a Toronto brand owned by Loblaw. The garments are made in China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and India. Mark's is owned by Canadian Tire, with a head office in Calgary, and the clothes are sourced abroad, including Bangladesh.

Tim Hortons was founded in Canada in 1964. Grocery coffee is roasted in Ancaster, Ontario and in Rochester, New York. Restaurant Brands International owns the chain. The parent is listed as a Canadian company, and it lists principal executive offices in Miami.
