What's it about?

FYI Canada is a social networking site designed for teens to express their ideas and opinions on Canadian issues through pictures, video and commentary.

FYI Canada is a virtual space designed for all Canadian youth to meet and share opinions and ideas.

Three main sections of the site invite teens to get involved:

Canada Scene

Where are you from? What's your weather like? What do you do for fun? Classic Canadian questions are answered with vivid images of community, friends, travel, and home. In Canada Scene teens showcase photos and videos that share who they are and where they live. Viewers vote on their favorites.

Your Voice

Here teens are invited to speak out about issues that matter to them. Your Voice is an opportunity for teens to share their views, state their opinions, voice their concerns, and tell their story—to the world.

Opinion Polls

Create an instant poll or vote on hundreds of others. See if others agree or disagree. Live updating pie charts reveal to-the-minute slices of popular opinion.

In addition to the main sections of the site, members of the FYI community (register for free to become a member) can talk about themselves on their Profile Page, and see at a glance how they've participated on the site so far. Visitors to their Profile Page can leave "shout outs," - tiny, brightly coloured symbols of Canada with upbeat messages attached.
